Notes : Crystal blue sky. Windless. Calm. Small peaks dotted from the north end to almost the Dox. I opted for the peak basically at Panda’s. A deceptive wave – you had to be right on the peak to get the magic. No shoulder hopping Johnny’s allowed. Inside and outside were working. I kept paddling and hunting for the peak of the set wave but kept guessing wrong – or being just out of position. I did manage 2 or 3 decent rides of which I availed myself with a modicum of adeptness. Overall I did not make the most of a nice morning of waves and that’s how the Neptune cookie crumbles sometimes. All in all pretty glorious especially when a pod (family) of dolphins paid us all a visit – hopping and jumping to and fro with their silver skin glistening in the sunlight like a shark skin suit in a West End production of “Mack The Knife”
