Notes : clear and clean but kinda crappy and close outy. between taco bell and the creek – had some okay glass that held up for a bit. More a music day from fb post Sat 10/1/16 SF Musical Appreciation Day Started at HSB with Tom picking and sliding for Jesse Denatale’s set on the mammoth Arrow Stage. A bit of acoustic yo la tengo – dabble of hot tuna electric then Chuck and Stephanie Acoustic. However, had to leave mid set because I broke out in a cold sweat on account of contracting a mild case of CAD (crusty anxiety disorder). Chapel that night Doug, Jeffery Luck and company nailed it with the Roxie Tribute show : For your Pleasure. Special guest vox on Love Is the Drug from Mark Eitzel who’s swaggering lovelorn rendition – dare I say it- gave BF a run for his money IMHO. After some deep indie RAWK Klassic Kuts from DJ/MC Parker -Dirty Ghosts lashed out a great set of catchy post punk angular tunes. Birthday boy Spiral Stairs then did a gaggle of great covers with Dirty Ghosts. (Including future dance funk hit – Hot Igloo by Kelley Stoltz.) Malkumus capped it with his postdoctoral indie-rock pop-jams. (I mean that in a good way- also a spot on cover of Stranglers Golden Brown.) Had to exit early -I imagine a lot of pavement-type shenanigans happened before the night ended… (As far as today is concerned: who will be the first band at HSB to goad the crowd into the Woodstock “No Rain, No Rain” chant?)
Stats/Video : still on the fritz
