Notes : rinse and repeat. actually we paddled straight out to dogmas. we decided to go in later so I cooked a big breakfast of pork Tate hash black beans and eggs. found again some rides at dogmas- tried Ginas 94 Ashley Lloyd- very very turntable – got some great rides. did not feel like a 94 but much shorter board. that night we went to a local restaurant overlooking the sea with the setting sun. celebrated NYE on the roof with Rican fireworks all around listening to Giorgio moreover…

Notes : we paddled out again at Marias fairly early . Mikel and Tina came with so that they could attack the farmers market nearby. Maria pick was still to steep and crowded. the best surfers were shortbaorders. hard to shoulder hop. again we paddled past pistons down to the lessons lair of dogmas. found a sweet little right that stayed open surfing over crystal clear water. this is where we stayed. eventually the lessons got out and we had it all to ourselves. a bearded long boarder joined us with his lesson. I managed to get some bigger outside set waves – very nice. that night cooked black beans and had pork with brown rice. dandelion salad with avocation. talked Spotify on the veranda…

Notes : first  day we paddled out at Maria’s 745- right at the peak – but it was too crowded and too steep. hard to get a fix on the board – absolutely 0 rocker. we wound up paddling down the beach past pistons and all the way to deadpans where they were giving lessons. I almost got run over by a 7 year old JUNIOR JABRONI. no idea how I escaped unscathed – both board and body. later went shopping with Mikel – el cheap steaks with asparagus on the patio- meal deemed a FAILURE. THE ME MIKEL AND TINA WATCH widows – HATING

Notes : We got in to PR at dawn picked up the cr and drove the 40 m minutes to Rincon. Two story super luxe house in tres palmas. Tina and I top floor with large balcony. Mike Gina bottom floor. We also have the roof which has access to  360 views of the beach almost all the way to Maria’s. Then we went to get the boards. First Andy where Gina stores her old board. Then to Bobbys surf shop where I rented a 9 4 single fin carol – the black rose. Gina would be riding her 94 Ashley Lloyd that she brought over – yellow with lost of rocker. Then Tina and gina went shopping – brought back roadside chicken  yam mash and rice and beans – – sun set and planning where to go for first day of surf…

Notes : Pat and mike meet Maeve and mark in SOHO for brunch. then. we all head out for the nearby mujii and other stores. pat and mike then  to Astoria craft beers at LIC 5th hammer beer place. Ellen H then drives us -pat Tina mike gina- (w/cold) to JFK airport for Puerto Rico just as the ASTORIA POWER PLANT explodes turning the pitch black night sky min pus;lu and gloriously green – so begins our Puerto Rico adventure!
