Notes : Well it was the Kahuna and Gina entered this year. We got there early and it was set up just N. of the A lot pumphouse. Waves were very good at that time. Set waves were breaking way outside. My heat was first and I decided to paddle far out and wait for the set wave. Mistake. It was a lull. I watched MS paddle inside after 5 minutes and hit the inside. I waited. After 10 minutes I panic and went inside. then the set waves come and I get caught inside. Two sloppy shitty waves gets me last place in my heat and no advance. Gina didn’t fare much better- got caught in the rip and dragged over – then some wipeouts and a small right hander. Oh well. tina and Lammy showed up and we talked on the beach of our “shame”. the onshore kicked up. We went for a free surf down by boatdox and it was actually pretty good. We both got some windy rockety right handers. That night we all headed over to K odles house for a big ole party. Lots of fun the whole day. (Gina had MAGA Andreini sign her books for her – one for her and one for Kev. O. I just couldn’t maga that stoke…
