Notes : Clean. Windless. Sections open for business at dox and by the creek- but lot of closeouts. Some size as well. Not many folks in the water considering conditions were decent. I stumbled into a set wave – I was about to abort because I thought it was closing out but then saw it was staying open- so I sort of slid sideways down the wave and managed to get up and have a decent ride – quite a recovery / save – I was surprised I made it…

Notes : Wow – near perfect waves. Glassy and big outside sets- some closing out the whole length of the outside and inside lineup. So big in fact that I hesitated – given that the tide was going up. However – tide was not going up so far as to crash against the rocks at its highest – so I cautiously paddled out. I actually stuck to inside wave – past the second jetty. Decided not to paddle out to the Pod furthest out – so I was waiting for the bigger sets and could pick off the ones that swung wide- OR- drop in after the reform. Pretty damn good…

Notes : Down at Crapitola for the weekend in Cabin # 14 Fern River. High quality wave – crowded but not overly so – book ended sesh… Some very good waves at the very start of the sesh – that a long frustrating lull where I couldn’t perform – then ended with some good waves – cut to the vid…

Notes : Pretty damn good. Overcast. Ominous onshore wind- occasionally gusting. Mucho surface chop. But lots of folk – given its a nother memorial day weekend. I was initially a HARD PASS. But I kept on looking. The wind made me say IXNAY given we were going down later to ole’ Fern River and I thought maybe I could do a sunset surf at Crapitola. However. I checked the tide and thought it might be too high late afternoon in the Crap. So… I got outta the car again and took another gander and decided to suit up. My god!! Glad I did. Looks deceive. It was chopped up – cold and onshore windy. All in all conditions most would balk at – but there were very very nice consistent wedgy waves coming through. Plus I surfed well. I loved the waves – they were deceptive from shore – but out in the lineup they were really good – open and long. Everyone in the lineup was smiling – saying – “wow this is good”. great sesh.

Notes : small chopped up onshore mushy mush- lots of hunt and peck with no luck – a very agressive seal came right near me hunting something- finally at the end of the session managed a very nice wave that catapulted the session into 3 performance territory…
