Notes : Howling 30 MPH offshores and poring rain. But the A and B lot were pretty crowded. I knew I was gonna do it because the size was not an issue- it was very doable. Had it been even slightly too big I would have been forget it. But it was only about MAX 5 foot. It was a challenge to paddle into the wave but once on it – wow what a ride!! I was hedging the board -inches from 10 over a number of times

Notes : Pretty nice at the ole boat dox. that night saw kozzleck/jesu at game. pretty brave performance. entrance music was MK reciting a weird spacey dream about being in farrah faucets house then walking down to the ocean. The the band came out and he started out with a 25 minute song/rap / monologue that was about as fresh as fresh can be -like an ongoing tour poem of his thoughts and reactions to the world and those he loves. it touched on everything – from touring to the election. At one p[oint i though – shit- he is basically just going to sing talk improv one long piece. But then it ended and he said welcome to the show. it was a brave performance – he went out on the line- if you were a musical dr frankenstein you would have to put lenny bruce, watertown era sinatra, and rollins black flag era rage into a blender- pretty rad- i never thought i would ever say a performer was “brave” but that was it-MK was on the ledge – brave

Notes : so so high tide warblers. not the typical 250 plus yard capitola sesh however – some nice wedges here and there. after the sesh i was walking by the beach wall about to take a bite of my gourmet egg ham and cheddar breakfast sammy when i felt a bump on my head then a strong pinch of my finger. Fucking seagull STOLE the sammy right out of my hand. I was in shock. Two women came over and said “i can’t believe what that seagull just did.” Brazen, impudent , arrogant Trump Seagull!!!

Notes : Tina and I spiral up to da BO. It was SUPER KING HI TIDE. Essentially the water was rushing ALL THE WAY UP THE RAMP. it was unsafe to even try and get up the stairs. Still jabronis were suiting up without even looking and jaunting down to the ramp – only too discover it was way beyond what they expected. Morons were getting slammed up against the beach wall. I watched and waited for almost 1.5 hours till the tide subsided. I decided to hug the wall out to the patch but with my board still in the board bag. it was a good call because it allowed me hug the berm and climb with ease using my board bag handles. There was a patch of sand near the patch so i waxed up and put the board bag way up on the cliff with several rocks on top of it. Dry hair paddle out. The waves weren’t really big – jut the tide made it warmly and wonky. still it was glassy and fun – got a few 200 yards. When i finished the beach was back because low tide had started in earnest- beautiful sky blue perfect day— buzzrds in the air and black ravens- with the super MOON and KING tides AND other nonsense it all seems utterly shakesperian … or maybe something SOPHOCLES would have foretold. we ate at coast cafe the hugged the coast back to SF – ENDLESS BLLUE SKIES OVERLOOKING A MAJESTIC OCEAN…
