Notes : the capitola jabroni car klassic. every spot taken by a meticulously re furbished classic car. From 1912 ford model t’s to mid 70’s muscle cars. 100’s of them in the downtown area. What is of course truly amazing is that EACH one of these cars is restored by the same southern california jabroni. He is about 6 foot 2 with an ample gut- a well groomed mustache and a wife on the hefty side with peroxide dyed hair. through some weird technology he has cloned himself and his wife so there are hundreds of him walking around downtown capitola talking with themselves about torques, pistons, refurbishing metal pin rods that are over 70 years old. its like westworld somehow. oh and the waves a decent capitola three star day soft and crumbly

Notes : outside rollers- but most were only 150 yards. thing is i surfed the shit out of them. my best performance on a board in a long time. cheater five- rad cutbacks-elegant dismounts- serious serious perching where i though- i can walk up to the nose six more inches and get all 10 over…

Notes : drizzly morning and it looked like mush. I spied an open left in from of the A lot pump house that no one was grabbing. I went in and grabbed it – some very nice little pushy mushy puzzle piece lefts. tricky to grab but nice. Then it started to clean up get nice. Little close to shore rollers by the a loy pump house. B6 and his entire crew showed up- also 4 or 5 other really good long boarders. too much talent vying for too little wave – though nice to watch

Notes : nice mellow capitola day- overcast a little chop – some fun ones. sort of standard good capitola – not a lotta push and everything was under 200 yards -sort of rare. crew out in the water was friendly and nice

Notes : Classic boatdox. A bit choppy but they were rolling in. I stayed outside waiting for the BOMBS. I did indeed get a few- took an effort to paddle into then because they were THICK. but nice ride. B6 in the mix and R1 – eleganté on his board

Notes : Pretty damn good clear windless – a nice crowd for a weekend and not many people. Got a mess of waves right when I got in. Then I paddled outside waiting for THE BOMB. I waited and waited. From 830 AM to 930 AM – NOTHING!!! Could be all time longest wait at Capitola. But then it turned back on and had another hour and a half that ws bam , bam , bam … one wave after the other. A mess of 200+ yarders…

Notes : Second peak was to big. Sat on the outside and waited and waited. At one point a outside set wave came- I was in position with one other guy. I had priority. He also could of gotten it on a turn and burn but as he saw me paddling he said “you got it” more like – I won’t take it but you better not blow it. I said “yea” and on the pop up said “thanks” then I was off to the races. Straight down the line -like a freight train- riding it high. Best wave of the sesh 220 plus yards. Jack o’nell died the day before and all sesh sat and watched family and friends enter his house and pay respects. From the 38th line up you could actually see all the people in his big main floor living room because it is basically one giant plate of glass…

Notes : 38th. Surfline said “POOR” – my reading would be more along the lines of “FUCKING AWESOME” Not many folk out at first. E3 from Linda. Second peak was too big. It was a wait but a glass wall would swing by every now and again – many 200 yards
