Notes : Santa cruz – 38th – now officially called jacks. was gonna paddle over to 2nd peak but stayed put. not as many rides and as long as usual – but snagged some walls. everyone talking about the big paddle out for jack oneil. heard one local: “nah i didn’t go – so many people and a lot of them had never even put on a wetsuit”

Notes : The mar was flat and it seemed all the regulars were down at the south end of montana. never surfed montana when it was so crowded. the wave -per normal- was wonky- warbly- and wobbly. managed to slip into a few. Mark SUP had some interesting stories. one was that he was in front of the a lot pump house on wednesday when a GIANT great white passed under him -clear as day. he said it was a “monster”. he got out out and told the surf school but they kept on with the camp. Then he started talking about my trace. he said he was surfing at “mushroom rock” on thursday with jeff clark. it was overhead. i never heard of mushroom rock. he said it was near mavericks. he said clark did a 75 wave 7.5 hour session!!

Notes : really small micro bump in front of the a lot pump house. but it was fun – with TC4- Surfed a couple of waves backwards really well folk hooting and hollering
