Notes : (Post first episode of the Jan 6 Commission surf which aired last night.) Big ole messy rights in front of Taco Bell. glad I didn’t go over to the creek where there was a big pod of folk. The right was really ornery, whiplashed and hard tp wrangle. Right off the bat I got two of them- but then couldn’t really connect with another. I kept picking the wrong set wave – but it t’werent the bad overall

Notes : With Gina down to the Mar. Misty/rainy – but nice little lines marching in. A left  and a right. Took me a while to get my bearing but wound up locking into the pattern of the swell – knocked off twenty waves – 12 were good – that I rode well – all left go rights. Afterwards Tina Gina and I went out to brunch True Laurel. Going now to meet Mike at Roxie to see Jessica Anthony produced doc “in the Bones” (RARITY: on reflection I want to upgrade my performance to a 4- this session is sticking with me performance wise- )

Notes : Mike and Gina up for Max Odle graduation party from HS and acceptance to UCLA. Me gina and Mike off to Bespoke Town. It was weird S/SW swell – peaks were everywhere- way out at the patch- right in front of the ramp and over at the groin. we opted for straight out and got some nice here and there’s. then we paddled to the way way outside Patch peak. there were real shoulder to head high screamers that were rolling in – really really long rides. didn’t really nail one. Later we all met up at the Odles’s for Max’s party- great time -lots of old friends

Notes : Nominally better than yesterday- maybe a little cleaner – but still a very high percentage of closeouts dumping onto the shallow lo tide sand bar. At least I was further away from the rocks of the dox. I got exactly one ripping right – it had a shoulder that I could zip down – nice wave, but that was it- everything else was hunt and peck for stale kernels…
