Notes : Wow- have to give it the rare 5. At Linda it seemed just too big and close-outy. A storm was approaching from up North so I figured if I raced down to Cap surf for an hour and then head back I could out run the oncoming deluge. Capitola was sunny and uncrowded. Nice wedges breaking way outside. Most waves I caught I was still not far out enough-however I paddled into the whitewater and wrangled the re-form which was great. Some very long rides with head high faces. I was convinced I beat the 300 yard barrier – they just felt so long (the paddle back was tiring). Trace however states no … longest ride was only 266 yards- it felt longer.

Notes : Wow what a surprise. Two distinct peaks. A right in front of Taco Bell and further south a left by the Creek. Glassy and consistent. Very nice rides. It seemed like the rides were way longer than 150 yards but Trace says no. Hard to believe that yesterday at Capitola I got a 280 harder but today it was only 156 yards. It’s rare -for me- to break 200 yards at Linda on pure face (if I do break 200 linda yards 60 yards might be re-form whitewash…

Notes : Down to ole’ Capitola. Brown dirt water but there were sloping wedges breaking way outside and inside. Tree trnks and all sorts of flotsam and jetsam in the water from the storms. B6 also rolled in from down south. A great mesh – but I could have surfed it better – but no complaints really

Notes : 10K joules. A storm tossed mess. No one in the water. One car in the lot. I looked in and it was Jeff Clark. I asked if he could tow me out to the break behind his paddle board but he looked at me askance…

Notes : Didn’t expect to go in … just watch. But it was surprisingly subdued for a 9000 joule forecast. Plus the storm had passed and it was clear skies. Still it was storm tossed and nobody in the very few folk in the water. I drove down to HMB which was a gigantic mess. By the time I got back to the B lot at Linda more folk had showed up- it looked sunny and less foreboding. I watched a guy on a soft top get a nice section. I suited up. It was okay -got just a few that were reform type jigsaw puzzle waves. I paddled down to boatdox but couldn’t get much … si I paddled in.All in all not that bad for a day where I was 90% sure I would not be surfing because of the forecast.

Notes : From the B lot it looked a lot better than it actually surfed – or how I actually surfed it. Once out in the lineup the waves seemed to lose the shape and power they appeared to have from dry land. I paddled around a lot. I got a few decent rides by frankensteining together a bunch of reforms
