Notes : Creek – lumpy stuff… crowded as hell. couldn’t connect. little bits and bobs. First surf able day at LM in a week so everyone was surf starved. I got out more because the crowd made it dangerous. Aborted a number of ride because there were clueless tech-bros floundering in the impact zone…

Notes : Stuff was out there but surfed poorly. Positioned wrong for the outside sets… but caught a few and lumbered through them ungracefully. CP at GAMH w/Garland J was quite good Lots of hometown folk at the show … reminisced w/MArk K and his wife about last years Civic Center concert. Hard to believe almost a year has passed…

Notes : Cowells. Almost a five. Low tide- tiered line up. Some wide breaking wedges. A couple of waves I really worked- racing out ahead then sharp sharp cutback – then the reform and back down the line. Surprised trace did not register any turns – it felt like I had a ton. Maybe they were to gradual. My last right felt way over 300 yards but Trace says only 276 – funny how distance can distort in a new spot

Notes : Clean. looked like nothing but some little wedges came through that had open corners. hardly anyone out. on the best wave i had i spied something behind me- very disturbing- i was sure it was a dolphin- the wave was kind of big – i looked behind me but saw nothing. paddling back out i asked a guy “did you see a dolphin?” he said no and asked why. i explained i saw something behind me on the takeoff but only caught a glance. He said “lets both hope it was a dolphin”. we both stayed in the water…
