Notes : Clean clear and windless. The Creek seemed to be working but when I got out there it was just too jumbled up and close-outy. I had noticed folks at the Dox getting rides so I made the paddle over. Good call. It was R and St and Ch. They had to be there for a reason. Indeed, it looked kind of jumbled and lousy goosey but there were waves – sometimes bigger ones on the sets. Took a bit of getting used to to get into them but they stayed open for a nice ride – despite there shabby appearance. By the end of the sash I just waited way outside for the bombs – such as they were-was rewarded with a couple of very nice long puzzle piece lefts…

Notes : Beautiful drive to the Bo. Blue skies and windless. however things were meek and weak – the patch barely working. 1500 joules means nothing for Bo (which today was) A good Bo day has Jules at 3000+ – then you know things will be working at the patch – hi or lo tide- would even brave 5000+ Jules. Surfline had it at a laughable 10-15 foot. Went to the jetty where there were some roller coming through with consistency – just was surfing poorly and couldn’t connect. Great to see and catch up with M Morasky in the lineup.
B MG and E Flannigan in the mix showing everyone how it’s done…

Notes : Still mackin’ Jackin’ overhead stackin’ at all the pro frizzle shizzle spots along the coast. Cap looks beat down by the tide. I hemmed and hawed then went up to Privates. Good call. Outside sets still workin. Waited along time for my first set wave – 45 minutes.- but it was one of my better ever privates wave. Got more frequent after that. On my last wave I think I did my most radical cut back ever – a sever left on a dying right that then set me up for another long inside section

Notes : Oversize – king size mackin’ at every spot down the coast. Jetty was giant. thought it would be one of those days where Cap would also just be too big. But it weren’t so. I knew driving into the lot because when its Cap no-go you see a lot of people with shortboards- that means the sets are too big for me. But it was relatively mellow. Breaking headhigh on the sets – but they were rollers- nothing too heavy – a lot of Linda Mar folk in the water – I scored best early on until the hi tide swamped it out.

Notes : Clean and windless at the creek- Big pod. everyone on the left so I headed for the right and waited. Problem was – the rights were not holding up like usual – they were just closing out. After a frustrating 45 minutes I relented and joined the ratpack fightin for the lefts -(including d the c) it was competitive – on top of the crowd, but damn it was nice went it came through and you scored one- very glassy and open…

Notes : Clean windless and big. Creek was too big for my liking . Was early so went straight to the dox which was working. Got in early so hardly anyone there. Sat outside and picked off some gems. As people trickled in they mentioned the waves I had. Thing is I picked off some big ones but I surfed really awkwardly – like with two left feet – wobbly – like charlie chaplain on the deck of that ship in the gold rush- but i stayed on the waves – however ungracefully

Notes : Flat up and down the coast. Tide was bad for when I arrived in SC – one hour before hi tide. the worst. but my only window. Capitola half the inside inside little bump – practically off the jetty. As soon as I got in I managed a little racer – then it just dried up. Stayed in my wetsuit and went back to the hook parking lot. Got in at 38th and decided to paddle all the way out to the point where there was a wave and a pod. As I got closer I realized the pod was not of wether beaten locals – but bratty local boys on wave storms 12- 14 years old. two others also but they were beginners. dammit if there wasn’t a nice little wave- it really jacker up steep – but well worth the long paddle out – got two or three of them – very nice. Definitely the furthest OUT I have ever surfed at the Point. I was effectively AROUND THE BEND seeing the cliffside and houses on the other side of the peak Point. Normally that is where the most jackin mackinaw waves are with the local mocal shizzle dizzle…
