Notes :Clear. Cold. Faint offshore. The Creek was hella crowded. Opted for TB because I thought the R was going to turn on with the dropping tide. Indeed it did. The first half hour was great. R and L ‘s – sort of fat warbly wide breaking things that offered up a b g face if you could steer into the go lane. With J, A and E in the mix. Soon enough folk flocked to where we were and it crowded up right quick – plus the wind picked up a cross off shore creating all types of troublesome texture on the waves. Was thinking about telling CP about how you get songs in your head for certain sessions and they just won’t leave. I wanted to make a custom board that had a radio button built into the nose that would play snippets of songs. One slap would play -Petty “The waiting” for when you’re sitting outside. Only the chorus would play “The waiting is the hardest part”. Another slap would play HÜsker DÜ – “could you be the one” which you play when a wave is coming. Fin ally The Fall “Couldn’t Get Ahead” for when you fail to make a tasyt y section. Anyway the song in my head this session was Zevon’s “Werewolves of London”- but not the whole song or chorus – just one line bobbing in my head over and over “ little old lady got mutilated late last night.”

Notes : clear. clean. hint of offshore. there were waves of consequence up north. I chose the Southland – where there were waves of No Consequence- and a crowd of Kook Consequence. I managed one very nice meaty waist high right – a clear runway and a clear flight path – amazing. besides that it was hunt and peck – and aborting take offs to avoid  a kook kollision. should have gotten more – but off my game

Notes : Onshore white capped monster surf up and down the coast. Down at all Cap it was 2mph offshore wind. sunny – very very small but glassy. I had a twenty minute window where I surfed well and hot some nice knew hi nose rides. then it all fell apart – too many folks – kids and kooks – I got out. (2nd bowl Hook was nice – but day before covid T-give packed so I didn’t want to fight that type of crowd for a wave.)

Notes : Clear and macking on the North End. Reprieve dow South at the dox Very good dox waves but I surfed very “meh” average – not bad so much – but certainly not good- It was not my on board performance but rather my poor wave selection as well as poor paddling for waves . Still some bites of the apple here and there…

Notes : overcast mushy onshore white capped mess. Surfline had the hook as “flat” no wind and tide falling. exactly how I like the hook so I headed down. sure enough there were a group of regulars saying how it was “flat and nothing”. I looked over the ledge for 5 minutes and in comes a perfectly groomed waist high glass wave – perfection. 4 people in the water and one really excellent long boarder. during the session we were all surrounded by pelicans – just sitting and floating by us in the line up. suddenly one of them started to dive bomb for fish and every other pelican took the cue. Suddenly we were SWARMED by dive bombing pelicans – literally plunging right next to mat board. some people covered there heads. one guy said it was like feeding time at the zoo. I took one wave and narrowly missed one diving into the face of the wave. sea gulls appeared and tried grabbing the fish out of the pelicans mouth right before it plunged down the pelicans long elastic gullet. then the pelicans would snip and bite at the sea gulls who would squawk back. I had never seen anything like it – quite amazing. plus 4 waist high glass nuggets…

Notes : It was clear skies. Slight onshore. Not much action down on the Southland/dox. G said go to Crespi. I opted for right in front of the A lot pump house. Flop surf. Small soft burps of waves that sort of flopped over and then crumbled into a ridable section. Challenging – but I managed a few decent rides- you had to SQUEEZE out the ride and really work the board to open into the little close to shore sections. better that I thought it would be…

Notes : Clear – faint chop on the surface – ankle and knee and waist high + stuff at the dox. From 7:15 am until 745 AM I was the only surfer there. nobody. on a holiday Saturday weekend – with waves – no body. Creek was a little bust – as was Taco Bell – also further up north. but at dox? empty. at 745 a couple of other people paddled over. the guy that had the wooden hollow hull surfboard was in the lineup but this time with a normal board – a good long boarder. for the whole two hours it never got more than 10 or 12 people. n normally its like 20-25 from first light to all day on Saturday. when I got out  at 930 -about 6 or 7 spots still available in the B lot. crowds – can never figure or accurately predict it….
